Powers of attorney

Powers of Attorney

We can notarise powers of attorney for use in any foreign country. We will require to see a draft of the power before you come to see us to check on the notarial and legalisation requirements of the document and in cases where the document is in a foreign language which is unfamiliar to the notary, we may ask for a translation to be supplied. We will advise you on whether the document requires legalisation and will provide you with a quote for our fees and the costs of legalisation if you wish us to deal with it on your behalf. We can also arrange for documents to be posted or couriered to their end destination for an additional fee.

Spanish Powers of Attorney

In addition to drafting and witnessing Spanish powers of attorney for clients in conveyancing and probate matters in which we are instructed, we are also regularly called upon to prepare Spanish Powers of Attorney for individuals and companies based in the UK who have properties or interests in Spain. These include powers of attorney for sales and purchases, company powers of attorney covering a bespoke range of commercial faculties, powers of attorney for accepting or renouncing inheritances, litigation powers of attorney and so on. We endeavour to ensure that our powers of attorney are drafted specifically to our client’s particular needs so that they enable the desired transaction to be carried out without being overly wide or granting faculties that are not necessary or which may expose the donor to risk.
